1. Is a 3-day trip enough to visit Siwa Oasis from Cairo?
  • Answer: A 3-day itinerary is fast-paced but completely doable if you are short on time. Because the drive from Cairo takes about 8 to 9 hours, Day 1 and Day 3 involve significant travel. However, we maximize your full day in Siwa to ensure you experience the top attractions, including the Salt Lakes, Cleopatra’s Spring, and a desert sunset.

  • Answer: The distance from Cairo to Siwa is approximately 750 kilometers, taking around 8 to 9 hours. To make this long journey as comfortable as possible, we use modern, fully air-conditioned private vehicles. We also schedule multiple rest stops along the highway for food, coffee, and bathroom breaks.

  • Answer: Yes, floating in the highly buoyant salt pools is a major highlight of this trip! The salt concentration is extremely high, which is great for floating but can be harsh on the skin. Since there are no formal showers right at the lakes, we provide fresh bottled water to quickly rinse the salt off your skin before heading to the next stop.

  • Answer: Siwa is a wonderful, welcoming place, but it remains a traditional and conservative community. We recommend dressing modestly (covering shoulders and knees) while walking through the town center, visiting the Shali Fortress, or browsing local markets. When swimming at Cleopatra’s Spring or the salt lakes, regular swimwear is perfectly fine, but please bring a cover-up for when you get out of the water.

  • Answer: This tour requires a moderate level of physical fitness. While the walking tours around the Oracle Temple and Mountain of the Dead are relatively easy, the main challenge is the long driving hours on the first and third days. It is a great adventure for most travelers, but those with severe back issues should consider the long car ride before booking.
